Katie and Brad's 2004 Trip Around Australia

1/03/2004 - Stage 1, Day 13, Page 2 of 3 - North of Yunta to Wilpena in the Flinder's Ranges, SA

After packing up our bush camp, we headed along some lovely dirt tracks to Hawker. Along the way we saw heaps of patches of dug earth. It appeared that someone had put heaps of time into ripping up rabbit warrens. Here's a couple of pics of me being the gate monitor along the tracks leading west to Hawker.

Headed north into the Flinders Ranges from Hawker. Did a few of the tourist drives - the Moralana Scenic Drive, the Brachina Geological Trail and then south through the Bunyaroo Gorge. The Flinders Ranges are really beautiful. Really rugged mountains and the most beautiful and enormous river red gum trees! I think Bradley's getting sick of hearing, 'wow!! look at that tree!' Ohhh well.

I took a few pictures of the red gums for those that are interested - I knew you'd be interested Sally! The first pic is just of a dry creek bed lined with trees, then there's me standing inside a tree, Bradley standing inside another tree and finally one of me crawling through a hole right through the base of a tree.
